McKamey Manor has moved out of San Diego, but I will be keeping this page up for memory

Ever since I was in high school (late 90's) I had been hearing about this haunted house in SD that was the ultimate experience and that nobody had been able to make it all the way through. There were stories of being in rooms with real snakes and spiders, forced into coffins with the lid being shut for a long time, being soaked in blood, blindfolded, forced to eat disgusting, rotten food, etc. This remained an urban legend throughout the years and I was certain it didn't actually exist. I always thought how cool it would be if it actually DID exist though. Turns out it was all true this whole time AND this place lays in a residential home in Rancho Penasquitos. I truly couldn't make this up if I tried. I am too big of a pussy to go inside, but if you're an incredibly rough and tough badass, get out here!

The tour can last up to 7 hours I believe and they do tours all year long. You have to sign a waiver before entering, only 2 people are allowed in at any time, you must be 21+, you will be filmed and photographed the whole time, must be in pristine health and obviously one brave mofo. This house is the real deal and being dubbed the scariest haunted house in America by the Travel Channel, TMZ and other big bangers. You will be on your own personal journey into hell, tapping into your deepest fears. Be ready. This will test every ounce of you physically and psychologically.
The craziest part (well, not really the craziest part but still) is that it is FREE. Last I read is all you need to do is bring in a bag of dog food or canned goods, all of which go to donation. These are good people running the show with some obviously sick and twisted minds. This is the ultimate right here.
So the bottom line is I'm too pussy to go inside their haunted house but man do I wish I could be friends with them!
Read some Yelp reviews:
"Normally I don't get scared with any haunt. I can walk through any haunt and expect the expected, but McKamey Manor I could not. From the start our eyes were duck taped and we were pushed and shoved, where to, I could not tell. Russ should be called a puppet master, as he led a small group through his sick and twisted maze. Filming every scream and cry for help. His actors mostly teens going crazy to give a great and unforgettable night for anyone. Russ knew we really wanted a scare and he delivered, and then some. Our tour taking over a hour an a half. When normally tours are about 45 mins. So I felt honored."
"This is a full contact haunt so be warned and you may be covered in blood and water by the end. Inside there are a mix of amazing props and actors in fully decorated rooms. By the end you won't know which way is up, which is the fun of being scared right?"
"This place is great compared to other haunts in San Diego. The Haunted Trail and Haunted Hotel is like rainbows and unicorns compared to this place."
"I wouldn't necessarily call this a haunted house... It's more like experiencing a horror film first hand! Considering this is their home, this is amazing. The props and actors were outstanding. I can only imagine the time and money they've invested in this to share with all of us, and that they only ask for a food donation is incredible. They only let in 4 groups of 4 I think after 6 pm, so trying to get in can be tough. I got lucky. I am in San Diego from Maine while my husband is stationed here and my friend said they saw it and begged me to go. We didn't realize the rules and just showed up. We got very lucky as it just so happened that three people chickened out, one locking herself in her car so they couldn't drag her in! This is not for the faint of heart, or anyone that can't handle some really tough physical torture. Russ and his wive are amazingly sweet people... Kinda makes me wonder where this twisted talent for horror comes from!! Definitely go if you think you can handle it!!"
Here's a video from 2012. Rumor is it's only gotten crazier since then:
