Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

A SHIP IN THE WOODS is a 501(c)3 non-profit art incubator working to engage elevated dialogues in art, science, music and culture based in Southern California. Through diverse curated events, residency program and collaborations, it has become a thriving community of innovative thinkers and supporters.”

Personal experience: A Ship in the Woods is an artist residency that holds occasional public events. It is then when we get to gawk at what magic they've been summoning inside their wonderful world. I've been wanting to go to one of their events for years but for whatever reason it never happened until now.

I couldn't believe it when I found out that their new residency was at the beautiful home at the end of Felicita Park. I always admired that home, saying that one day I would love a house/location just like it. I never thought I would be welcomed inside!

Prepare yourself to be immersed in a world that strives to think outside of the box. There are so many marvelous wonders to explore around every corner.

This first batch of photos is from their latest event Wake, which was on 3/17/17.  Here is what SITW had to say about the show: "In homage to this special St. Patrick’s Day show we decided to throw our own version of an Irish Wake.

Scientists and artists will question our vanishing eco-system, climate change, and the decline of our political system. Come pay respects to the universal self as we move through uncharted waters and unveil questions that examine the wake of our future existence. Remember to dress appropriately and bring flowers."

This batch of photos below were from their Flat Earth exhibition:This "bed" was purposely designed to be highly uncomfortable. An experience to take you out of your comfort-zone when one is usually at their most comfortable:
