Hello everyone! This is a friendly reminder that any of these fun places we may visit, we are a guest at. Please treat both businesses and trails with the utmost respect. We here at Hidden San Diego follow the 'Leave no Trace' mantra, meaning whatever you bring with you comes back with you. If you see trash on a trail, please do your part to help remove it. Remember, we are not picking up trash from another person but instead cleaning up for Mother Nature. Happy adventures!

After doing a contest with Rental with a View on our Instagram page I just knew we had to experience their Blue Lagoon property for ourselves. A luxury staycation without a hefty mortgage or crazy rent tag sounds good to me!

This property is super-spacious with an extra studio (which can be added on as an upgrade). The studio is fully furnished and comes complete with a kitchen, bathroom and bed. This is one of the best Covid-friendly ways to have more than one family hang out and still completely socially-distance.  There is the outdoor area which would be the common grounds for both family/friends/couples.

It was so much fun when we first got here just touring the magnificent home! We entered room after room after room and then of course there is the gorgeous backyard!

It took me a minute to find the outdoor deck but when I did holy smokes!  We arrived at sunset and it was the most perfect way to see the city views provided during our stay.

The private lagoon comes complete with a pool, hot tub, bbq, exotic statues, waterfall, and top-of-the line furniture for lounging.

The large kitchen has a breakfast bar, high-end appliances and sprawling granite countertops. I loved how our feet were being heated while cooking.  It’s all about the details of an experience!

The home also includes high-speed WiFi, USB chargers and outlets, a washer and dryer, garage, air conditioning and remote-controlled ceiling fans and games!

The main house has 4 bedrooms which offer 2 king beds and 2 queen beds and very memorable bathrooms due to how beautiful they are!

We made a milk bath near the end of the night in their unique, statuesque tub.  It was unlike any bathing experience I’ve ever had! The shower was an experience in itself too.  Both spacious and came with double-rainfall shower heads.

The home is within minutes from Downtown, Little Italy or Old Town. Check out our Neighborhood Walk guide of Mission Hills if you’d like to explore the area you’re staying in!

Covid Protocol: They mention on their site that they have always had very high standards for cleaning and were already taking many of the precautions currently being recommended prior to COVID, including, but not limited to:

* A “clean linen” policy and all bedding is washed with very hot water between each guest and dried at high temperatures
* All high touch surfaces are thoroughly wiped down with disinfectant wipes
* Dishes are washed in a dishwasher

I do want to note that you are right near a busy road so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this may not be the spot for you.  If you’re wanting to *feel* the city life, then you’ll probably love it here!

When we first arrived we entered the guest studio.  Although attached to the main house, it has its own private entrance and comes equipped with a kitchen, bed, bathroom and those beautiful views the rest of the home has too!  This can be rented out with the rest of the house as an upgrade.

When I went up the stairs and opened the gate to explore the rest of the property, the first thing I saw was the beautiful pool complete with a small, cascading waterfall.  So serene!

Next-level bathrooms!

We were very fortunate to get to witness an amazing sunset the evening we were here! blue lagoon

We ordered pizza and desserts from Trattoria di Pietro which was only 4 minutes away.  Couldn’t have been more perfect!  Their food is soooo good and authentic Sicilian cuisine!

The desserts were just as good!  We got their bread pudding and tiramisu:

Then it was swimming time!

I love that there were so many tangible options beyond televisions and screens to keep us entertained.  We played Jenga which I totally forgot to photograph but we got it super high!  I love that game!

We took advantage of all the amenities.  They had a cool 2-in-1 pool + air hockey table.  Super fun!

I made a milk bath and oh my gosh I felt sooooo smooth afterward!

Look at those views!
