Over time we have begun stumbling upon beautiful, painted paths across the city. I wish there were more places like these to appreciate. People dedicating their time and money to make otherwise drab pathways into beaming trails of color and beauty.
These specific spots are being locked under our members section to help protect them from vandalism. One color path that is not part of our members section though are the rainbow tiles at Spanish Village in Balboa Park.
These rainbow stairs exist because of one person committed to making our city a little more colorful. Magdalena was able to obtain city permission to create a special pathway for those lucky enough to find it. Now they are a popular backdrop for many people’s portrait shots on social media.
A shot of the artist, Magdalena, and her painted stairs:
These next two pathways are still mysteries to me as to who painted them. I’m hoping by making them live people will come forward with the back-stories.
I was definitely floored when I learned about this underwater-themed pathway that cuts through a neighborhood. Right when you think you know it all, out comes brand new surprises!
