From their website: The grand Vineyard Hacienda-style residence was carefully constructed in the 1930s in true old-style Spanish tradition – adobe, red Spanish tile, and high-quality authentic hardwood.
Vineyard Hacienda, an exquisite hideaway created in the Spanish hacienda tradition, possesses an extensive variety of locations, both indoor and outdoor, to meet the needs of even the most discriminating guest.
Options include weddings, honeymoons, conferences, holiday, anniversary and dinner parties, special celebrations, corporate off-sites, yoga and health retreats, other events, and overnight stays in our tastefully appointed guest rooms.
Our nine-acre property is situated in a private and serene location free from outside interruptions, yet conveniently located less than twenty minutes from downtown San Diego and its myriad attractions, including Balboa Park (home to 95% of local museums), SD Zoo, Petco Park, the Gaslamp nightlife district, and only a little farther to Old Town, the Coronado Hotel, the beach, Fashion Valley Shopping Mall, and Sea World.
Personal Experience: After running this site for a decade now and constantly combing through the city to find every hidden gem possible, I am still blown away by how many places I still didn’t know about. Vineyard Hacienda is one of them. The vibes and architecture feel like a perfect blend between a Spanish villa and gothic castle. It’s such a unique place.
We stayed in the Egypt room which was brimming with details related to the theme. There is such an ancient feel about this vineyard, it really is special. We went mid-week and pretty much had the entire property to ourselves. The pool felt SO nice on such a hot day and the game room kept us entertained with ping pong and pool. There were even jello shots left behind from an event that we were encouraged to indulge in. It definitely added to the experience!
Make sure to book a wine-tasting in their cellar. You will not be disappointed! We had the most delicious wine from their vineyard paired with a charcuterie board. It was so good I forgot to take photos! We were salivating over it.
They host what look to be amazing wellness retreats here as well which focus on mindfulness-based stress reduction, restorative self-care and holistic wellness. This is also a great location to host an event such as a wedding or family reunion. Highly recommend!
They make their own wine here. We had a bottle and let me tell you, it is delicious!!
Look for the secret zen spot tucked away near the back of the property. So peaceful!
Navigating the hallways felt like we were in a movie. Every twist and turn had new surprises:
We stayed in the Egypt room which is filled with Egyptian details:
There is a wine cellar here which winds you underground into your own secret world. We had a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine from their vineyard, BOTH of which I forgot to photograph because I was so engulfed in the moment. Darn!
They next morning we headed back to the pool area to lounge, swim and soak in our staycation
They have a small outdoor gym for those that want to stay in shape even while on vacation!
We had a lot of fun in the game room playing ping pong, pool and taking jello shots that a group before us left behind (with permission of course):
LOVE this kitchen!!
The bark beetle has claimed multiple trees here, all of which were then carved out and turned into works of art:
